EPISODE 18: EARNED, GIVEN, & REFORM
This week the Fun Time Moms discuss the college admissions scandal involving Felicity Huffman (best known as Lynette from Desperate Housewives) and Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky from Full House), is this a situation of white privilege, rich privilege, or another example of our hypersensitive society reacting to the way something has always been? Meanwhile, Alicia admits that she’d go Andy of Fyre Festival to get Shawn into a good high school but while everybody else is paying and gargling for free tuition there are several high achieving black teens across the U.S. getting accepted to colleges left and right. The Direct Mommy Message of the week about a granny who Ashley dubbed Edith asks what do you do when your in-law is highly critical of your stepchild. The Fun Time Mom and Dad of the Week were given to an unlikely pair because of their work with prison reform which leads to an interesting debate between the ladies about being a product of your environment and deserving second chances. The ladies also discuss some of the shows they’ve been watching, provide an update on Ashley’s mom our #OGFunTimeMom, Ashley continues to mom shame and adds food shaming to her list, and they’ve both stolen what?!
